The Trek.

“It is solved by walking.”
— St. Augustine

On Thursday afternoon, April 3, 2014, my wife Kellie and myself took our maiden voyage on the Appalachian Trail, biting off a 62-mile section between Amicalola Falls State Park and Unicoi Gap in Georgia. We have been hikers all our lives...but this was the first real backpacking we've done. By the time we untied and unstrapped Thursday morning a week later, we were both exhausted and exhilarated!

It's not for nothing that life is frequently compared to a journey--the correlations are numerous and profound! Based on our experience, I'll be posting a series of blogs called "Culture Fuel from the Trail," offering insights into human behavior and organizational leadership from our days on the trail.

If you'd like more of a pictorial storyboard of the journey, visit our Facebook album here. Here's hoping you get to spend some time on the trail yourself, but in the meantime, enjoy some of the simple thoughts coming up each week!

Thrive on,

Jerome
